Before you come

What to wear

  • Fitted or comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in
  • Layers for the final relaxation, when the body cools down
  • Bare feet on the mat (socks are fine for Yin and restorative)

What to bring

  • A water bottle
  • Your own mat, if you prefer
  • A small towel for stronger classes
  • An open mind

Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are provided in every room.

How your first class unfolds

  1. 15 min before

Arrive, check in at the front desk and fill in a short welcome form.

  2. 10 min before

Store your things, collect a mat and props, and find a spot that feels comfortable.

  3. 5 min before

Let your teacher know if you're new or have any injuries to be aware of.

  4. Class time

Settle in. Follow along, rest whenever you need to, and ask questions afterwards.

Studio etiquette

A few gentle guidelines

Simple habits that keep the studio calm and comfortable for everyone.

  • Switch phones to silent and leave them with your things
  • Arrive on time; doors close a few minutes after class starts
  • Rest in child's pose whenever you need a pause
  • Wipe down and return props at the end of class
  • Keep voices low in the Garden Room

Beginner questions

Classes we recommend for beginners:

I've never done yoga before. Which class should I choose?

Gentle Hatha and Hatha Foundations are designed for beginners, and Restorative Yoga needs no experience at all. Classes marked All Levels also welcome newcomers, with options offered throughout.

Do I need to be flexible?

Not at all. Flexibility is something yoga can help you explore, not a requirement to begin. Your teacher will show you how to use props so every pose works for your body.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

You're welcome to bring your own, but clean studio mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are available in every room.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your first class. It gives you time to settle in, find a spot and let your teacher know about anything they should be aware of.

Can I practise if I have an injury or health condition?

Please check with your healthcare professional before starting any new exercise, and tell your teacher before class. They can suggest modifications, but they can't give medical advice.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellation terms depend on your booking system. Add your studio's policy here, for example a 12-hour cancellation window.
